06.04.05 wow - has it really been a month? time flies when you’re making a record! the biggest news is that all 12 songs are back from our engineer, bobby cochran. we now have a full white label copy of the new album! a huge thanks goes out here once again to the review crew (you know who you are) for doing a kick-ass job of reviewing the tracks and sending in such thorough commentary for us. now it’s on us to take it to the next level. we have a few ideas in mind for further production and mastering, so stay tuned! in other news, kalib just bought a beautiful new guitar (a semi-hollow electric) and is having quite a bit of fun with it. this should give chris-the-roadie a new fun toy to play with when we gig! for those wondering when we’ll be out of the studio and playing live again, sois patiente! we may break our fast on this year’s folsom street fair, which is always a blast - short sweet and lots o’ leather - we’ll keep you posted!
05.05.05 (what a cool date!) we’ve been going through the tracks, reviewing vocals, mixes, track order and all that. i think the july date was a bit optimistic - we’ll more likely get the album released late in t fall or winter. it was hard to realize that, but it’s more important to us that we get it right and release the best possible record, than that we run on time for an arbitrary schedule. the cuir bleu review crew has been doing a great job - everyone is really devoting time and thought to listening and to getting back useful comments and critiques. we couldn’t do it alone, so thank you - and keep the comments coming! click here to review by listening online. 04.13.04 the first four tracks are due in from our engineer, bobby cochran shortly - time to start reviewing! if you have an interest in joining the cuir bleu review crew, e-mail me and we’ll get a cd or files to you. we’ll be going over (and over) each song, and want to gather other people’s views and opinions. the more input the better - this album is gonna rock! (and groove and get you dancing!) 04.03.05 we just finished recording all the vocal tracks for the album up in ukiah at laughing coyote studios. so far it all sounds great, and we’re very excited! check out the crew page, pixie pix and kalib shots for studio photos from the weekend! 03.10.05 july 12th is the release date our label, asylum arts, has set for cb’s upcoming album, blue leather. this gives them plenty of time to perfect the tracks and to set up gigs and promotions for the band. they are also working to improve our mailing list, so that we can be sure you are all kept in the loop! 02.13.05 at long last - the cuir bleu store is open for business! thanks to cafepress.com, you can buy cool band logo t-shirts, coffee mugs, teddy bears and the like! far too cool not to check it out. pixie says she is planning to buy a black sweat suit that they have available now for spring. very important to keep warm in the studio! 02.11.05 ok, here it is! for those with a taste for such things, pixie’s blog (pixie_bleu) is now active at livejournal.com. take a peek, become a friend or just check out where pixie and kalib may next appear... it’s all there. 02.09.05 - from pixie for those who’ve been waiting... we’ve decided the official working title for the upcoming album is “blue leather” ... ah, i love leather! meanwhile, in other thoughts... i’ve been considering some sort of blog. i don’t have time to write every day (takes alot of time to make all this band stuff happen!) but it occurs to me that some of you might like to hear more of the blow-by-blow. so... please send thoughts or comments to: pixie@cuirbleu.com and let me know if you want to see one posted! 01.31.05 we survived the move and the studio is up and running. pixie just worked out a new chorus for the most recent track, “brass pole”. the final vocals on all the tracks will be done at bobby cochran’s studio in northern california sometime in late feb, early march, so the spring release of the album is still on the mark. the track list so far is:
two songs, darkside and sweet little girl will have to wait for the second cd. --kalib 12.27.04 the studio move is set for jan 8th. wish us sunny skies! 11.24.04 still reworking the album. we’ve decided to keep it simple as we now have several versions of each song but are returning to the originals--reconnecting with where we began. also we are in the process of relocating the studio. this moves the album out to spring. 10.30.04 folsom street and exotic erotic were not to be this year. a blessing in disguise as we have been so busy. the album is progressing and has a new track called “brass pole”. production came to a halt when chris started producing some amazing new arrangements of the tracks, so we have decided to go back and rework many of the songs which will delay the album. this has given us a chance to write some great new songs for the second album. these tracks have a very different feel and we want to share one with you... 8.03.04 current gig! cuir bleu will be performing this sunday, august 8th on frank moore’s shaman’s den. the band goes live at 8:00pm (pst) for an hour-long set and will be interviewed around 9:00pm. this will be a live internet broadcast. if you want to listen, follow the directions below: irc chat is also available - check it out on luver.com! go to http://www.eroplay.com/luver/index.html and click on the link that says "watch/listen to luver!" under the love underground visionary revolution logo. also, here's a direct link to the live luver stream: http://www.eroplay.com/luver/luver.ram you need the realplayer to watch , which you can get from: http://www.real.com/ look for the free realplayer link (not one with a 14-day free trial!). for people on older computers legacy players can be found here: http://proforma.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html

2.28.04 pixie’s birthday party in oakland was quite a bash, with lots of folks playing around in the studio making all sorts of music and noise. ah, to kick back with good friends - quite a luxury! kalib got to show off his motif es keyboard - which he refers to as “the hottest keyboard on the planet” - as well as his handsonic drum and a couple of theramins.

9.29.03 folsom street fair 2003: cuir bleu rocked the 7th street stage yesterday at the 20th annual folsom street fair. approximately 50,000 people attended this event throughout the day, and we did our part to make it a memorable occassion. cuir bleu shared the stage with one of pixie’s local favorites, celtic rock band avalon rising. we were followed by space vacuum from outer space - in full, silver alien splendor! all-in-all, it was quite an event! pixie really hit her stride on “sex toy”, and “the city” felt like a home-coming, with leather-clad folks from all over the country nodding in agreement and encouragement. great fun was also had when our mc, princess kennedy, decided to call someone’s mom in between acts - and our roadie chris supplied his cell phone! finally, a big thank you goes out to our new black-and-bleu-crew, who really rose to the occassion - josh, chris, sergio, jessi, christian and yarra... with a special thanks for the video and photo footage!
9.15.03 cuir bleu will be playing at the folsom street fair in san francisco on september 28th. this will be folsom street’s 20th year as an event, and it should be loads of fun! for those not yet in the know, the folsom street fair is known as the “granddaddy of all leather fairs” - it is also reported to be the 3rd largest outdoor event in the US, topped only by san francisco’s lgbt pride parade and the rose bowl! So come out and join us in your finest leather or fetish attire...come dance, enjoy, and have a spanking good time! 9.01.04 a new addition has joined the band - kalib’s new motif es keyboard. it’s quite a beastie, and he seems to be looking forward to spending some real quality time with her - er - it. i’m sure kalib would be happy to discuss the merits and range of this, his newest friend with anyone by e-mail. 8.20.03 cuir bleu took the stage last night at club revolution in san jose, while 80’s new-wave band softcell played nearby. the regulars at revolution are a goth-industrial crowd, and while some were drawn away for the softcell show, we had our share dancing and standing by. while many stuck to the somber black of their genre, a few were attired in their fetish finest - a site that always warms our hearts! the club itself was waves, a turn-of-the-century brothel and saloon-turned-club , all in polished wood and velvet drapes.... worth checking out the next time you’re in san jose! many thanks to josh and kyu, our two-man-crew for the evening! 8.01.03 check out cuir bleu on musicresearch.com! we are happy to announce that cuir bleu’s single, take a picture, has been selected for musiclover review. go to www.musicresearch.com and sign up as a musiclover. then click on the picture of pixie and you can listen to the song and give your opinion. this site is a great opportunity for us as a band to get feedback on one of our tunes, so check out the site and let your voice be heard! 7.28.03 upcoming gig! cuir bleu will be performing on august 19th at club revolution, located at waves smokehouse and saloon 65 post street in san jose, california. for details or further info, contact pixie. 9.22.02 cuir bleu will be appearing on frank moore's shaman's den show sunday sept 29th at 8pm. to view the show you need to go to www.luver.com and select the "listen to luver" link. watching the show requires that you install realplayer onto your computer. more details can be found at www.mp3.com/cuirbleu the band was back in the studio over the weekend and has finished the bed tracks for 9 songs. vocals, mixing and mastering of the songs will continue over the fall and winter months for a spring release of their yet to be titled debut cd. 7.08.02 of international note! a lovely photo of kalib and pixie will be in the summer 2002 issue of skin two, london's high-class fetish magazine! skin two chairman and photographer tim woodward took the shot at san francisco's, you do voodoo ball. the magazine (issue #40) will go on sale shortly and can be found in the states at borders, stormy leather, and tower records. if you haven't checked it out yet, this makes another great reason to! 6.29.02 let the wild rumpus begin! cuir bleu is back in the studio working on an ep of remixes for club release. collaborating on this project is numina recording artist, bobby cochran (hands upon black earth), whose music also appears in the cleo dubois video, tie me up. 5.27.02 it's honeymoon time! this is to confirm the popular rumors: yes, kalib and pixie tied the knot! frank moore presided as minister, and the wedding ceremony was broadcast live last night on frank's internet show, the shaman's den, on www.luver.com. 3.29.02 the waiting is over! last night was the preview and champagne reception for cleo dubois' new bdsm video, "tie me up! bondage tips and torments." kalib helped to score this piece: taking on some of the audio editing, recording percussion and voiceovers, and providing some original music from numina bands audio terrorist and cuir bleu. in addition, pixie provided production assistance. the final video is nearing its release date, and the preview was well received and enjoyed. from what we've seen, it looks like "tie me up" is on its way to becoming a fetish community hit. 2.15.02 new release!
